The Painters You Need-- All In One Place

The Painters' Co-Op has simplified the process of finding a painter for home or business use. You can easily review the profiles of painters in your area, comparing them both by detailed individual profiles and with easy-to-read check-box lists. Once you've found companies suitable for your job, just check them on a list, and you can fill out just ONE form to recieve a quote from several firms. This saves you time and reduces error, wether you're a homeowner looking for a fair price to touch up a wall, a contractor seeking the first coat of paint on a new subdivision, or a business which needs their walls done in the company colors.

What Painters Charge (or how to not be whitewashed)

Your paint job will probably be billed in two parts: Labor and materials.

Labor costs are generally dependent on the amount of area to be painted, the amount of complex masking that has to be done, and the need for special tools or equipment. There are also often additional labor charges associated with the removal of old paint and power-cleaning the surface to ensure good adhesion.

Materials costs include not only the gallons of paint, but also single-use supplies like masking tape, roller brushes, and cleaning solvents. You may also be expected to pay rental fees for specialized equipment, like "cherry-picker" cranes to reach inaccessible locations. Many painters have arrangements with specific paint suppliers; because of their business volume, they may be able to offer you a better deal if you use their preferred brand. Don't hesitate to ask, but also remember you're not bound to their selection.

Are you concerned about an offer you recieved from a local painter? Get additional quotes. A quote significantly lower than the others may indicate a misunderstanding of the problem or cut corners on supplies. With the Painting Co-Op, you can be confident you're sending out the same specifications to each company, ensuring the most reliable estimates.

Even Newer Homes Need Quality Painting

Your house may look fairly new and clean, particularly if it's less than 20 years old. However, there are many important benefits to keeping it freshly painted.
  • A solid coat of paint will seal tiny cracks, which allow expensively heated air to escape in the winter, and insects to intrude in the summer.
  • New paint will give your home stand-out curb appeal, important in this tight real-estate market.
  • The thorough cleaning and inspection associated with a new paint job can reveal cracks or insect and water damage you didn't realize you had-- letting you fix it before it's too late.

Find Nearby Painters

The Painters' Co-Op was founded to make sure that the best local painters had a web presence as impressive as their work. Combining the resources of hundreds of approved firms, we've built an easy-to-use system to help you find the painters you need in your own neighborhood.

Make Sure Your Painter Is Compliant

Painting is regulated in several key ways. First, many states have rules requiring contractors to be licensed and bonded. While some painters may be able to work under a "handyman exemption" for small projects, it's important to find appropriately registered contractors when they are necessary. Our simple profile pages make it easy to locate this information.

In addition, many homeowners discover that their choice of painter will be strongly influenced by their local home-owner's association (HOA). They often have rules limiting the style and techniques you can use, and how long you can have painters working on your site. By selecting an experienced painter in your own area, you're more likely to find one familiar with the local environemnt for his work, and less likely to get you socked with assessments.

Different Painting Needs Require Different Contractors

When you're painting indoors, you need a painter trained for it. He should be familiar with choosing safer, indoor-specific paints, as well as how to cope with moving or working around furniture and fixtures. In contrast, an outdoor may be able to exploit power sprayers and more durable paints to ensure a brilliant cover which will look consistent and attractive for years. He'll also have to be familiar with cleanup and surface repair. By just looking for the right checkboxes on Painters' Co-Op, you can find your way to painters experienced for your job.
